ABOUT

Lauren E. Chilton (she/her) has been a prop supervisor and fabricator for fifteen years after accidentally falling into the props department while an undergrad at the University of Virginia.  Since then, she has worked in nine states and the District of Columbia, worked on over 80 productions, and earned an MFA in Props Design and Management from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

She loves the object as character and the use of items as a form of world-building.  Her primary focus in props is carpentry, though she enjoys all forms of fabrication and working closely with designers to flesh out the world onstage.  She loves to focus in on the small details that create authenticity and the constant problem-solving and craftiness that is so particular to props.

She will always call the valleys of Virginia home, and currently lives in New York City.
